Portugal inspired acrylic paintings
During my recent travels through Portugal I have been inspired by the incredible rock formations, the clashing waves, boldly designed fishing boats, serene pastoral scenes, spectacular cloud formations and the dramatic landscape.
I am still working on several new Portugal inspired paintings, which I will share as soon as they are completed. For the moment enjoy the following paintings:
Silk Painting
“Silk Paintings” are painted on pure silk, using special silk-dyes and so called “resists”. Then drops of water, salt or paint-sticks might be applied to obtain special effects.
The finished painting is dried and ironed, in order to fix the colors. Then I glue the silk onto canvas or foamboard for support and it is ready for framing.
I am teaching silk painting Workshops, where students will learn to paint scarves, pillows, sarongs and other wearable art, as well as wall hangers and silk pictures.
